On the day before Christmas Eve, people crowded the hallways inside Escondido’s North County Mall for Super Saturday. Parking quickly filled up with shoppers ready to get last minute items for their loved ones.
“Everybody is last minute, I love it! We’re not alone,” holiday shopper Sarina Lira said.
According to a survey by the National Retail Federation, 142 million shoppers are expected for Super Saturday. So while there were plenty of people still shopping, they definitely weren't alone. Some people said they still had a full load of gifts to buy.
“We need at least ten before we leave the mall,” Lira said.
Another resident said the same, “Maybe like 10 or 11 gifts today,” holiday shopper Yasmine Jackson said.
Shoppers spend big money this holiday season, one holiday shopper said they will be spending anywhere from $100 to $150 in a mall shopping trip.
