5 Ways to Save Money in 2023 | Financial Plan

Hey guys, I'm back with another video, and today's video is about how to save money in 2023. I keep hearing about this looming recession coming in 2023, so I shared some tips on saving money with a financial plan in 2023.

1. Audit your subscriptions (Streaming Services, Beauty Boxes, etc.)
A subscription audit is an excellent way to keep track of your spending because you'll see where your money is going and have a better idea of what you're paying for. Narrow down the subscriptions you use the most, and cut out the ones you aren't.

2. Shop Online for Groceries
Shopping online for groceries is excellent because you can clip digital coupons and shop around to see which stores have the best deals. You can also avoid buying unnecessary items when someone does your shopping. I HIGHLY recommend shopping at wholesale stores like BJ's, Costco, or Sam's Club. You'll definitely get more bang for your buck.

3. Pay Your Bills Annually, If Possible
Depending on who you get your services from, most will allow you to pay your bill for the year. This may not be possible for everyone, but if you can do so, I highly recommend it. Most companies will give you a discount for making an annual payment, and you'll have one less bill to worry about adding to your monthly budget.

4. Are you Spending Money on Wants or Needs? (Asset Vs. Liability)
Keeping this thinking in mind will help to curve your spending because you'll train yourself to determine if your purchase is something you need versus something you want. If it isn't a need, don't buy it! This will keep you on track to saving more money in 2023.

5. Pay Yourself First
Paying yourself is a great way to save money because you'll always have a portion of your earnings designated for your savings. It's recommended that 20% of your earnings be put towards savings, but this number will vary from person to person. Find a percentage that works for you, and be strict about adding money towards your savings and not taking from it.
